Squadron Cadet Leadership

Cadet Non Commissioned Officers (NCOs) are cadets who have been promoted into a position of responsibility and are the back-bone of the squadron. Being promoted is not a right of passage and is achieved through high levels of commitment and self motivation. NCOs are leaders, and as such learn a great deal about people management and utilizing resources, as well as developing their ability to make snap decisions and complete complex tasks. Cadet NCOs are the cream of the crop in the Air Cadets, and the experience gained will stand them in good stead for later life.

Warrant Officer First Class (WO1)

The highest rank that an air cadet may aspire to receive. Highly experienced senior cadet who has proven to be worthy of leading all cadets of his/her squadron. Cadets wearing this rank are leaders who have gone through all five levels of Mandatory Training, giving them the experience and the knowledge to excel as leaders.

Warrant Officer Second Class (WO2)

In many squadrons across Canada the WO2 is the highest ranked cadet, which makes him/her "The Leader". Cadets achieving this rank are trained as leaders and they get to collaborate with officers in the organization of activities for the squadron. Warrant Officers Second Class are senior cadets who must perform to a very high level and take care of many responsibilities.
